NEW DATES RELEASED FOR 2025!!!

This is a one day wax-only workshop. This wax carving workshop requires previous experience with wax carving, and is not suitable for beginners. This workshop does not include ring casting or metal finishing/polishing (the silver ring photos shown in this listing are some examples of finished products, where gemstones were set using the cast-not-set technique). If you require a metal finishing/polishing session, this can be added in conjunction to your cart (from the separate listing under "workshops") or it can be purchased at a future date (once you have had your wax ring independently cast) if required.

Immerse yourself in a jewellery-making experience in my one day Cast-Not-Set Lost Wax Ring Carving workshop, located in my studio (3105, VIC). Learn how to set gemstones directly into wax rings, and dive into the fundamentals of the ever popular cast-not-set technique. You will spend the day carving your ring/s, and set a variety of round gems into the wax. You will be provided with the details of a local casting company, shall you wish to have your wax creation independently cast in the future.

You will create one wax ring or multiple less-involved rings eg. simple stacking rings set with a gemstone/s directly in wax, for the popular cast-not-set (cast-in-place) method. Gemstone choices are limited - you can choose up to 5 synthetic round stones in different colours and sizes to flush set into your ring/s (not all gemstones are suitable for casting in place - more about that in class!).

Gemstones are included in your course package.

I look forward to seeing you in class!

Much Love,

Dahna

Course Details

This specialised course involves the cast-not-set (cast-in-place) method, where you'll set synthetic round gemstones directly into your wax ring/s. This course is a one day wax-only workshop, and does not include provisions for casting your wax or polishing your ring. You will walk away with a wax model, to do with as you please after class! Remember, the cast-not-set method is unpredictable, comes with risks and the procedure is not fail proof. Refunds cannot be issued for any negative outcomes resulting from the independent casting of your wax model/s which you made in this class.
