Wax Carving Ring Workshops Have Commenced In My Melbourne Jewellery Studio

My jewellery making workshops have officially commenced in Melbourne, for students to attend and learn something new!

The first in-studio workshop is for complete beginners - the introduction to wax carving where you'll learn the basics of wax carving, and get to carve your own ring (or two) with my guidance!

My studio houses a maximum of two students per class which ensures you will receive the personalised attention you require to bring your design concept to completion. The second class is for finishing your cast ring and really bringing your work to life.

Classes are booking now through to mid September so get in early to avoid disappointment!

In addition to the beginners introductory class, two weeks from now (starting 9th June) I'll be hosting classes on the very popular cast-not-set #castnotset #castinplace method. This workshop does require previous experience and the focus will mostly be on the "setting" component, which can be very laborious. At least 95% of my jewellery here and on instagram has been crafted using this method. I have spent several years perfecting this technique and my knowledge will arm you with what to do and what not to do in order to have the best possible outcome with the lost wax investment casting method (please note this is not a sand casting workshop, and no casting gets performed on site or in our classes).

The benefit of my workshops is that you have the flexibility of carving your own design, provided that the design is reasonable and falls within the designated class timeframes.

The jewellery making workshop and benches are fully equipped with professional jewellery making tools, and you'll be ready to start from the moment you take your seat in the studio.

My studio is quiet and comfortable and filled with colourful character! You'll also get to hang out with the studio pooch - he loves having friends over for the day (only if you love dogs!).

You will be very well looked after, even after your workshop has finished. I'll always be around to answer any questions, to provide support and to help you with sourcing tools etc. Best of all - you'll be receiving a thorough amount of information and theory to help you get started once you're out on your own! I know how overwhelming it can be starting up with something new, so I have removed all of the guess work and confusion for you.

Students are eligible for discounts through several participating jewellery suppliers here in Australia, so jump on the opportunity to grab yourself some tools and equipment at a great price! (Pod Jewellery, Koodak Jewellery Supplies, Australian Jewellers Supplies).

Please reach out to me any time via email dahnamak@gmail.com or directly through instagram DM's if you have any questions about my classes, or for a general chat!

I hope to be a small part of a potentially life-changing journey for you.

Oh and if you would love to participate in one of my classes but you're on the other side of the world - I've got you covered with my range of live zoom classes! As always, I'm happy to discuss "bespoke" zoom classes, to tailor a class/series of classes for the student based on a very specific design they may have in mind. Reach out if you'd like to know more about the process for zoom enrolment, or to discuss your needs with me.

I hope to meet my Melbourne dreamers!

Much love,

Dahna
